| FROM POLE BARN TO HYDRO-BARN
In yet another ground breaking installation, Hydroswing takes a common pole barn and turns it into a completely secured and protected - yet still fully accessible - structure.
The pole barn is essentially a roof, extended over a series of poles and lacking exterior walls (see “before” photo, top right). Most commonly used for hay and livestock shelter, many pole barn owners soon find themselves in need of additional security and protection from the elements. And, once again, Hydroswing is the solution!
Jason Weidler of Hanley Engineering had a client in Santa Ynez, California find himself in exactly that situation. His client needed to convert his pole barn to a fully enclosed building, and his client had very specific ideas about what he wanted.
“When I began doing research on doors for the owner, I had to keep in mind that my client wanted a door that he could leave part way open at times to create an awning type covering to park farm equipment under for storage” states Weidler. “Hydroswing doors provided that perfectly, and do not have any obstructions to get in the way of operating equipment around the perimeter. The only other type of door that I had found when researching was a bi-fold and this style of door would definitely not satisfy the owner, nor would it work for this application. My client is completely satisfied and very impressed with the design and quality of construction of his Hydroswing.”
“As the contractor, I feel the same way,” he adds. “Hydroswing doors were easy to install, even with a crew that has not done this before. The hydraulic system went together very easily and we did not have any issues with operation. Sales and service were great from start to finish, we received excellent product support and, above all, these doors provided precisely the solution that the owner needed.”
“The Hydroswing Door is very well engineered and I am looking forward to working with the Hydroswing team again!” - Jason Weidler
