Hydroswing Hydraulic Hangar Doors
ISSUE  22 CHRISTMAS 2009

In this challenging economic environment it is hard enough to find companies that are surviving, much less growing. Hydroswing Hydraulic Doors & Walls is most definitely growing – powering upward and redefining an entire market along way.

After being purchased by Marshal Parker three years ago, the evolution of the company began, rapid growth ensued, and the company soon found itself outgrowing their Cottonwood, Minnesota-based sales and production facility. The ever-growing demands of the burgeoning domestic and export markets, including expansion into new market sectors, such as industrial, architectural and glass doors, made additional personnel and more square footage a necessity. These increased demands and a commitment to maintain the highest level of product and customer service at the most competitive prices inspired Parker’s vision for streamlining sales, manufacturing and delivery efficiency.

In sync with Hydroswing’s growth and Parker’s vision, a unique and timely real estate opportunity presented itself in nearby Marshall, Minnesota. The new facility, ideal to house the growing sales and administrative staff, offers a more modern and fitting setting for Hydroswing’s corporate headquarters, while allowing for greatly increased manufacturing space at the Cottonwood facility.

Hydroswing’s presence benefits the small town of Marshall as well, increasing visibility and bringing jobs and revenue to the small community. “In the past two years our output of doors has almost tripled,” says Parker. “We outgrew our Cottonwood facility and knew we had to expand to allow our manufacturing process to accommodate the volume, and deliver greater efficiency and value to our customers. This is a tremendous facility that now allows us to accelerate growth of administrative & sales staff while increasing volume and output at the manufacturing site.” Parker adds, “we are grateful and committed to the communities of Marshall and Cottonwood going forward, and we value being situated in the agricultural heartland where many of our farming customers live and work”

Located 13 miles from the original Cottonwood facility, Hydroswing’s new corporate headquarters is housed at the Southwest Minnesota Regional Airport, Ryan Field (MML). A fabulously fitting environment for the Hydroswing team, the 12,000 square foot facility was originally constructed in 2004, and will provide ample growing room for administrative, sales & IT staff. Parker’s commitment to the local community will serve to help stimulate the town’s industry and bring a renewed sense of pride to the location, “The timing was fantastic” states Parker. “We needed a place to grow, and the town of Marshall needed a partner committed to the community’s plans for the future. Hydroswing will play a large role in those plans as we continue to expand and provide more jobs and increased visibility.”

And the potential for Hydroswing’s growth seems virtually limitless: “With our new THD (hydraulic “T” hangar door) eating up the bi fold market,” adds Parker, “we are moving to 60%+ ownership of this category in the US alone, seeing Hydroswing rewrite the book on general aviation and agricultural doors up to 150 feet wide by 40 feet tall”

Our progress is your gain as we continue to grow and pass the increased efficiency on to our valued customer’s.
